Who We Are

Mourne Gospel Fellowship (MGF) is a non-denominational community church based in Kilkeel, Co.Down. The people of MGF are from many different walks of life and have come to encounter God and His love for them. We believe that the Gospel has the power to transform individuals, families and our community.  We are passionate about telling local people about God’s love for them and aim to share this passion through various ministries and outreach events. We desire to meet the practical and physical needs of local people, showing them that God can meet our every need.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
— John 15:12

NEW TO MGF

If you are new to the area or new to MGF we welcome you and invite you to join us as often as you wish. When you visit you will be met by someone from our Welcome Team, who will show you around.  Please feel free to ask our Welcome Team any questions that you might have when you arrive; we want you to feel at home.  We have two meetings every Sunday; 11:00am and 6:30pm.  During each service we have a time of teaching from the Bible, prayer, and a time of worship led by the praise and worship team.  The praise and worship is a variety of contemporary songs and traditional hymns. The evening service is informal and there is no dress code; people stay after the meetings and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat together in the cabin.

The purpose in everything we do at MGF is to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. We glorify God by making disciples, equipping families, and serving the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The weekly meetings are simple and current, addressing real life issues which we all face every day.  The message brought will show you that there is a hope, and that God, through His mercy, grace and love, can make a difference to you as an individual and to your family and friends.

FACILITIES

Children are welcomed to stay in all of the meetings but if you would like some privacy there are also crèche facilities available in the cabin with a TV link to the meeting. Crèche facilities are available morning and evening. There are baby changing facilities available and disabled toilets.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE BIBLE

We believe in the verbal inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures and the authority of both the Old and New Testaments.

GOD

We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections.

MAN

We believe man was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through disobedience, and that the entire human race shares in man's lost and depraved nature.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man.

ATONEMENT FOR SIN

We believe that atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.

THE RESURRECTION

We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and His priestly intercession.

SALVATION

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the world of sin and the judgement to come.

INDWELLING OF THE SPIRIT

While all believers are in-dwelt by the Spirit of God (Romans 8), we believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite endowment of power for service and is separate from conversion.

ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again.

ETERNITY

We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal damnation and punishment of the nonbelievers. We believe that the consummation of all things includes the visible, personal and glorious return of Jesus Christ the "Blessed Hope" of the Church.
